In 2006, my heart was forever touched by a trip to the Deenabandhu Children’s Home, an ashram that provides shelter and quality education to orphaned and destitute children in rural Karnataka, South India. In November of 2010, YGB founder Kayoko Mitsumatsu made the trek there with me. I am so thankful for Yoga Gives Back, who continues to support dozens of children at Deenabandhu. YGB has also founded an educational fund that has made and continues to make higher education more accessible for these children.
During our live ZOOM presentation at 11:00am EST on Saturday, June 22, I will take you on a visual tour of Deenabandhu, including images from my most recent trip with my 8-year-old son in April. Kayoko will then share more about the dedicated work YGB does in Karnataka and West Bengal, including their micro-finance and scholarship programs.
Just a small donation will go a long way to helping me meet my goal for Yoga Gives Back! To register for this event, there is a $15 suggested minimum donation.
For $45 a month, or $550 annually, you can sponsor a child at Deenabandhu for one year. This covers all living expenses, including education and extracurricular activities. As someone who has been a sponsor since 2007, I can assure you that your contribution makes a tremendous impact!
